Sodas or Mineral Waters--1840's pontiled TWITCHELL - EMERALD GREEN COLOR!

Here is another Twitchell soda in average, cleaned condition, but in the scarcer, earlier mold and a great emerald green color. TWITCHELL / PHILAD.A - SUPERIOR / T (SOLID BLOCK) MINERAL WATER This was a dug bottle with scratches, wear and dings, some of which I had to buff in order to bring the bottle to a presentable state. Consequently I had to clean it further, so if you don't like your bottles to look cleaned this one's not for you. However, I think it came out well, despite a little loss of definition in the TWITCHELL embossing--there are no chips or cracks, and very little remaining case wear on the embossing--scattered wear, scratches and pings remain here and there upon close inspection. Slight 1" streak of stain in the neck on the Superior side (just noticed--knocked ten bucks off price). Great deep pontil with slight traces of iron. This is the earliest (block letter T) Twitchell mold, dating to around 1847-48 and usually appears in lighter shades similar to the bottle next to it. The mold is easily recognized as the only one WITHOUT the open block T on both sides - it has the sold block T on one side only. A few of these darker ones have come out of the woodshed recently, but they are scarce, and are seldom mint. If you can find an attic mint one in this mold and color for under $175 please let me know so I can buy it. Until then, this one will do. Priced to sell, with no structural damage. Nice display condition for a window shelf or with backlighting.
