EXTREMELY RARE pontiled soda boldly embossed "G. LEASCHER & CO. / THIS BOTTLE NEVER SOLD / F. A. & CO." Large, ring shaped iron pontil, circa 1860. Possibly unique.
I believe this G. Leascher soda was the property of Captain George Leascher of the Tennesee Riflemen of Maney's First Regiment. Please check the link below.
Probably one of a single issue of bottles produced for Leascher's bottling side business (within his mattress manufactory) just prior to his induction into the Confederate Army.

I was fortunate to actually have acquired this rare piece, but I felt it deserved a place in a collection worthy of it's rarity.

Now that it has sold I have returned it back to the featured pontiled soda category for March, 2008.

I am happy to report that it is now included in one of the finest collections of rare southern sodas in the country, where it rightfully belongs!
