Even though it is not pontiled, this circa 1859 Hubbell Drugstore form deserves recognition. This is a rare color for this form, and the scroll frame motif strikes a similarity between soda and citrate. I had a marked citrate with this motif for sale at the site, but it will be sold on EBAY this month. This pic will be a reference for that auction, and I will keep the citrate pic up for comparison.
I think the drug store soda form was a citrate crossover, and some of these, like the Hubbell and the Simes, may have held a citrate, or a medicated carbonated water with citrate properties. Just speculation ... but the bottle can surely be appreciated for what it is aesthetically. The link below takes you to the citrate.
Oh...before I forget, I'm sure everyone is familiar with the common C. Ellis aqua citrate. I think the second pic speaks for itself crossover wise.
