Ahhhh, the mysteries of the pontiled soda--where will it end? Take this incredible pontiled soda out of Maysville, Kentucky. The only other I have seen is the medium sapphire one (3rd pic) listed in the APS as "Brosby", but the pic filename is "Brosbee". Of course the pic is cut off right at the edge of the letter after "BROS[?]". Is it a "B" or could it be an "E"? Well, enter these excellent pics (1 & 2) of the "J. BROSEE" in which case it is an "E". But is this the correct spelling? Maybe the earlier listing was "Brosee", but the owner mispelled it and I couldn't see this in the pic. In any case, this "J. Brosee" looks earlier, and is a much deeper color than the rounded blob example. It settles the question of the spelling of THIS ONE at least. I am told there may be more info about the bottle and its owner in the current issue of ABGC magazine-- courtesy of the author, John "pontiled" Van Gorder via Russ Butler. Another great unlisted soda for the next APS update!
