This "MR & HW / LUNDBLAD" - "2UINCY" sent in by Chicago collector Paul Welko has got to be the craziest pontiled soda I have seen in a long while. It appears to be crudely patterned after the "GEO EAGLE" diagonally ribbed mold, though with the tapered top it is hard to say who used this form first. And unlike the EAGLE, this embossing is actually "upside down" when the bottle is sitting "rightside up".

This is only the second pontiled Quincy, Ill. soda I have seen, and neither actually says "Ill." This bottle, if it exists in cobalt blue (like the EAGLE) would no doubt set some record price at auction. Dream on, but until then, I guess these pics will have to do.
